It is believed that Black Tea originated in the province of Fujian during the 16th Century. Black tea is a "true" tea ( Camellia sinensis) made from leaves that are more heavily oxidized than the white, green, and oolong varieties. It is generally stronger in flavor and contains more caffeine than more lightly oxidized teas.
Indian and Ceylon tea is usually named after their region of origin: Assam, Darjeeling, Ceylon, etc. and also by estates and grades for quality leaf from lowest to highest (OP, FOP, SFTGFOP1).
